In keeping with our objectives and aims, each year CAST-UTECH Alumni
Association (Ontario Chapter) awards scholarships & Bursaries to students who
could not afford to further their education due to financial constraints.
As we move forward into another school year, CAST-UTECH ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (Ontario Chapter), reiterates its commitment to the support of students from the Caribbean Diasporas attending colleges here in Ontario and also at UTech in Jamaica. With this in mind, and in conjunction with our partners; Victoria Mutual Building Society, Victoria Mutual Money Transfer, Jamaica National Building Society and Jamaica National Money Transfer, awarded bursaries totaling Eight Thousand dollars to eight students in Ontario, selected from the numerous applications received.
In addition to the bursaries donated here in Ontario for this academic year, we will be donating another Seven Thousand dollars to students attending UTech in Jamaica. This sum will take the total of our donations to Forty Three Thousand dollars over the last four years. We are very proud of our achievement made possible through you our supporters and also our sponsors. Whilst we are extremely elated about this, the interview process has served as a vivid reminder to us of the extent of the needs of our students. We will continue to implore your support and participation as we strive to increase our contributions to their academic lives.
To all the volunteers who gave selflessly of their time to make this endeavour a success, please accept our heartfelt thanks.
